A Toxic
Tale:
| Mercury
poses a threat to human health and to our environment. Mercury
accumulates in the liver, kidneys,
brain and blood. The higher the concentrations of mercury
and the longer the exposure, the greater the likelihood of health
effects – and children and unborn babies suffer more than
adults do. Although mercury poisoning can permanently damage
the body, the amount of mercury in the body can lessen over
time if there is no further exposure. |
