Old Apple Tree Festival

Upcoming Events & Volunteering

Arbor Day
The City of Vancouver celebrates Arbor Day each year in April. Arbor Day is an opportunity to celebrate tree planting and the benefits that trees provide to our city.

Old Apple Tree Festival
The Old Apple Tree Festival occurs each year in October. This festival celebrates the oldest apple tree in the Northwest, which was planted in 1826 at Fort Vancouver.

Volunteer Events
Vancouver Urban Forestry coordinates multiple volunteer projects, ranging from tree plantings to invasive species removal work parties. Click here for a schedule of upcoming volunteer events.

NeighborWoods
Another great volunteer opportunity is the NeighborWoods program. NeighborWoods Stewards receive about twenty hours of quality education and training on various tree topics. In exchange for the free training, Stewards make a commitment to serve as a tree information resource for their neighborhood for at least one year and to coordinate a tree planting or educational project in the community.

Tree Talk
The Tree Talk workshop series is a great way to learn more about trees with no commitment to future volunteerism. Click here for a schedule of upcoming workshops.

If you would like to find out about upcoming volunteer events or other volunteer opportunities, download the Volunteer Interest Form and return it to Urban Forestry or call (360) 619-1108.
