Changes to the picnic shelter reservation system coming in 2010!

Several changes are being made to the picnic shelter reservation system starting in 2010, including:

  • Reservations will be taken starting on Feb. 1, 2010 - one month later than usual.
  • The number of reservable picnic shelters will increase to include two shelters at Captain William Clark Park (Cottonwood Beach), two shelters at Frenchmans' Bar Park and one shelter at Marshall Park.
  • Responses to frequently asked questions about our reservations system and holding events in parks will be available online and at Marshall Community Center.
  • Short videos about each of our parks and their picnic shelters will be available online.

Clark County is also considering charging rental fees for its picnic shelters starting in 2010, as a way to help recover some of the costs associated with maintaining them. More information will be available in mid-December 2009 if the fees are approved by the Board of Clark County Commissioners. More information.

Other Facilities/Events:
Reservations for Esther Short, Vancouver Landing and Turtle Place are handled by Cara Cantonwine the Special Events Coordinator at 360-487-8630.
