Q. Who is eligible to eat at SNAP?
A. Anyone 60 or over, anyone married to someone who attends SNAP who is 60 or over, or anyone who volunteers for the meal program.
Q. How much does it cost to eat?
A. The suggested donation is $3 per meal.
Q. What kind of activities do you have at SNAP?
A. We have dances, bingo, exercises, health programs and services, special festival days and special holiday activities for every major holiday. For a complete listing, check the SNAP page in The Senior Messenger.
Q. Is there transportation available to get to SNAP?
A. There is limited transportation through the Southwest Washington Agency on Aging. For that service call 694-9997. There is also transportation through C-TRAN and C-VAN.
Q. Are children welcome to eat at SNAP?
A. Children are welcome but must pay full cost for their meals. The cost is $4.75 for children over eight and $2.50 for younger children.
Q. Is SNAP a welfare program?
A. No. These programs get partial funding through the federal Older Americans Act, but the remainder of the funding comes from participant donations and fundraising efforts.
